Final Four Quick Facts

Louisville vs. Kentucky is only the second time two teams from the same state are meeting in the National Semifinals. The other time was in 1954 when LaSalle defeated Penn St 69-54.

The last time two teams from the same state were in the final four was 1991 when Duke and North Carolina were both in the final four.

#2 seeds have only played against each other once before in NCAA Tournament history when Arkansas defeated North Carolina in the 1995 National Semifinals.

#1 seed has played #4 seed 5 times in the National Semifinals. The #1 seed is 4-1 in that round. The only loss was by North Carolina against Arizona in 1997 by the score of 66-58.

The only time a Big Twelve team has faced a Big Ten team in the National Semifinals was in 2002 when Indiana defeated Oklahoma 73-64.
