North Carolina 93 Baylor 86 (OT)

North Carolina is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2019 and the 35th time overall.

North Carolina's win over Baylor ends a 3-game tournament losing streak vs. the Big Twelve.

North Carolina's win over Baylor is their 9th win over a #1 seed which is tied for the most all-time with Duke.  They are 3-1 as a #8 seed vs. #1 seeds.  The 3 wins by a #8 seed over a #1 seed is the most all-time.

Kansas is 5-5 against Big East in the tournament.  They have never won or lost 2 in a row against the Big East.

Creighton is 0-3 vs. the Big Twelve in the tournament.

Creighton is 0-4 vs. teams from the state of Kansas in the tournament.

Creighton is 0-3 vs. #1 seeds.  They also lost to #1 Gonzaga last year.

Michigan 76 Tennessee 68

Michigan is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 5th consecutive tournament and the 18th time overall.  They have won their last 7 Round of 32 games.

Michigan is 3-0 vs. Tennessee in the tournament.  They also defeated Tennessee in the 2011 Round of 64 and 2014 Sweet Sixteen.

Michigan has won 4 consecutive tournament games against the SEC.  They are 10-3 overall vs. the SEC.  All 3 SEC losses were in the Elite Eight.

Michigan is 5-0 vs. teams from the state of Tennessee in the tournament.

St. Peter's is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history.

St. Peter's joins Florida Gulf Coast (2013) and Oral Roberts (2021) as the 3rd #15 seed in tournament history to make it to the Sweet Sixteen.  St. Peter's was the first of the three to beat two teams that were ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll.

In all three Round of 32 wins for #15 seeds, they defeated the #7 seed.  #15 seeds are 3-2 vs. #7 seeds including three consecutive wins.

Both of St. Peter's wins in the tournament were vs. teams from Kentucky.

Murray State is a tournament-worst 0-7 in the Round of 32.

Murray State is tied for a tournament-worst 0-5 on Saturdays. Saint Louis and VCU are also 0-5 on Saturdays in the tournament.

Providence 79 Richmond 51

Providence is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1997 and the 6th time overall.

Richmond's 51 points is the fewest that Providence has allowed in 38 tournament games.  Their previous low allowed was 57 vs. South Dakota State in this year's Round of 64.

New Mexico State is 0-3 vs. the SEC in the tournament.

New Mexico State is a tournament-worst 0-6 vs. #4 seeds.

UCLA 72 Saint Mary's 56

UCLA is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 2nd consecutive tournament and the 36th time overall.

UCLA is 13-4 against the West Coast Conference.  The 13 wins is the most that UCLA has against any conference and the most wins by any school against the WCC.

UCLA is 15-3 vs. teams from California in the tournament including 15 consecutive wins.  The 15 wins is the most by any school vs. teams from an individual state.

UCLA is 13-3 when playing tournament games in the state of Oregon including 13 consecutive wins.  The 13 wins is the most by any school.  They are 6-0 in the city of Portland.

UCLA is 45-17 on Saturdays in the tournament.  The 45 wins is the most by any school.

Saint Mary's is 0-3 vs. the Pac 12 in the tournament.

Gonzaga 82 Memphis 78

Gonzaga is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 7th consecutive tournament and the 12th time overall.

Gonzaga is 4-0 when playing tournament games in the State of Oregon.

Gonzaga has won 9 of their last 10 games played on a Saturday.

Memphis has lost three consecutive Round of 32 games.

Memphis is 2-6 vs. #1 seeds.
