Round of 32 Tournament Tidbits - Sunday Edition

Michigan is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2014.  Michigan is 10-8 in the Round of 32.

Michigan is 1-1 vs. Louisville.  They lost to Louisville 82-76 in the 2013 National Championship Game.

Louisville ends a 6 game winning streak in the Round of 32.  They are 23-8 in the Round of 32.

Louisville's loss is their first ever as a #2 seed.  They are 12-1.

Kentucky is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 3rd time in 4 years.  They are 26-7 in the Round of 32.

Kentucky is 2-0 vs. Wichita State.  They defeated Wichita State 78-76 in the 2014 Round of 32.

Wichita State loses in the Round of 32 for the 2nd consecutive year.  They are now 4-4 in the Round of 32.

Wichita State's loss is their first ever vs. a #2 seed.  They are 3-1.

Kansas is in their 2nd consecutive Sweet Sixteen.  They are 22-12 in the Round of 32.

Kansas is 2-1 vs. Michigan State in the tournament.

Kansas is 10-4 playing in Oklahoma.  The 10 wins is a tournament best.

Michigan State is 17-5 in the Round of 32.

Michigan State misses the Sweet Sixteen for the 2nd straight year for the first time since 2007.

Michigan State is 6-10 vs. #1 seeds.  The 10 losses is tied for the 2nd most with Kentucky behind Louisville who has 11 losses vs. #1 seeds.

North Carolina is in their 3rd consecutive Sweet Sixteen.  They are 29-12 in the Round of 32.
TNorth Carolina is 4-2 vs. Arkansas in the tournament.

North Carolina is 11-5 vs. the SEC.  The 11 wins is tied with Indiana for the most all-time.

North Carolina is 15-1 on March 19.  The 15 wins is the most by any team on any one date.

Arkansas has lost 5 straight Round of 32 games.  Their last three tournament losses have been to North Carolina in the Round of 32.  They are now 10-11 in the Round of 32.

Arkansas is tied with Temple for a tournament-worst 0-9 vs. #1 seeds.

Arkansas loses on March 19 for the first time.  They are 5-1.

Oregon is in their 2nd straight Sweet Sixteen.  They are 6-3 in the Round of 32.

Oregon is 3-0 vs. the Atlantic Ten.

Oregon is 9-1 playing in California.

Oregon defeated Rhode Island 75-72.  That score is the second most common score in tournament history.  It has occurred 13 times.  The most common score is 69-67 which has not occurred since 2010.

Rhode Island is 2-5 in the Round of 32.

Baylor is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2014.  They are a tournament-best 4-0 in the Round of 32.

Baylor is 3-0 vs. the Pac 12.  Only Florida has more wins without a loss vs. the Pac 12 with 5.

Baylor is 4-0 vs. #11 seeds.  Only Louisville has more wins without a loss vs. #11 seeds with 5.

Southern Cal is 3-5 in the Round of 32.

South Carolina is in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 1973.  They are 3-1 in the Round of 32.

South Carolina's win is their first against an ACC team in the tournament.  They are 1-2.

Duke misses the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2014.  They are 26-8 in the Round of 32.

Duke is 4-7 vs. the SEC.  Only Marquette has more losses to SEC teams with 9.

This is only the second loss in 12 games for Duke against #7 seeds.  The other was loss was to West Virginia in 2008.

Duke loses on March 19 for the first time.  They are 9-1.

UCLA is in the Sweet Sixteen for the 3rd time in 4 years.  They have won 3 straight Round of 32 games.  They are 20-7 in the Round of 32.

UCLA is 2-1 vs. Cincinnati in the tournament.

UCLA is 29-1 playing in California.  They are 4-0 in Sacramento.

UCLA is 2-0 vs. the AAC.  The 2 wins is tied for the most with Kentucky.

Cincinnati fails to make the Sweet Sixteen in their 5th straight tournament appearance.

Cincinnati is 6-13 in the Round of 32.
