Florida - Northwestern State Tournament Facts

Here are some NCAA Tournament facts about Florida and Northwestern State:

Post-Game:
Northwestern State's 47 points is the fewest points they have scored in 5 tournament games.  Their previous low is 54, done two times.  It is also the 2nd fewest that Florida has allowed in their history.

The SEC is now 5-1 vs. the Southland.  The only loss was by Alabama to Lamar 73-50 in the 1983 First Round.

Florida is in the Round of 32 for the 3rd consecutive year.  The last two years, they advanced to the Elite Eight before losing.

Pre-Game:
The last 4 times that Florida has won their Round of 64 game, they have advanced to the Elite Eight.

Florida has played against a Southland team one other time in the tournament before.  They defeated Sam Houston State 85-55 in the 2003 Round of 64.

This is the 4th time that Florida has been a #3 seed.  In two of their previous times, they advanced to the Final Four, losing to Duke in 1994 and winning the Championship in 2006.

Northwestern State is making their 3rd tournament appearance.  They won a game in each of their two previous appearances.
