Michigan - South Dakota State Tournament Facts

Here are some NCAA Tournament facts about Michigan and South Dakota State:

Post-Game:
Big Ten is now 6-1 vs. the Summit League.  The only loss was Indiana vs. Cleveland State 83-79 in the 1986 Round of 64.

The Summit League has not won a game in the Round of 64 since Valparaiso defeated Mississippi in 1998.

Pre-Game:
This is the only the second time Michigan has been a #4 seed.  They were also a #4 seed last year and lost to Ohio 65-60.

This is the first time that Michigan has ever played in tournament game in their home state.

Michigan is 8-1 when playing on Thursdays.  Their only loss was in 1995 Round of 64 vs. Western Kentucky 82-76.  

South Dakota State is 0-1 all-time after  playing in their first ever tournament last year.  They lost to Baylor 68-60 in the Round of 64.
