Miami - Pacific Tournament Facts

Here are some NCAA Tournament facts about Miami and Pacific:

Post-Game:
Miami is now 5-6 all-time in the tournament.

Miami's 29-point victory is their largest in tournament history.  Their previous high was 21 vs. Lafayette in the 1999 Round of 64.

It is also Pacific's biggest margin of defeat.  Their previous high was 25 vs. Marquette in the 1979 Round of 32.

4 of 5 of Miami's tournament victories have been by double digits.

Miami is 4-4 when ranked and 3-3 when ranked vs. unranked teams.

Pacific's 49 points is the fewest that Miami has allowed in 11 tournament games.  Their previous low allowed was 54 vs. Lafayette in the 1999 Round of 64.

Pre-Game:
This is the second time that Miami has been a #2 seed.  They were a #2 seed in 1999.  They defeated Lafayette 75-54 in the Round of 64, but lost to Purdue 73-63 in the Round of 32.

Miami has played in Texas once before.  They lost to Tulsa 80-71 in the 2000 Sweet Sixteen.

This is Miami's first time that they have had an automatic bid in the tournament.

Pacific has played one other ACC team in the tournament.  They lost to Boston College 88-76 in the 2006 Round of 64.

This is Pacific's lowest ever seed.  Their previous low was #13 in 1997 and 2006.
