Ohio State - Iona Tournament Facts

Here are some NCAA Tournament facts about Ohio State and Iona:

Post-Game:
The Big Ten is now 6-1 vs. the MAAC.  The only loss was Ohio State vs. Siena.

Thad Matta now is the all-time winningest coach in Ohio State tournament history.

Ohio State's 95 points is their 4th highest scoring game in tournament history.

It is also the most that Iona has given up in 11 tournament games.  The previous high allowed by Iona was 80 by Louisiana State in the 2006 Round of 64.

Ohio State has won in the Round of 64 each of the past 3 years.

Thad Matta is tied with Fred Taylor for the most tournament wins in Ohio State history with 14.

Ohio State has played against teams from the Metro Atlantic twice in past tournaments.  They lost to Siena 74-72 in the 2009 Round of 64, but defeated Loyola, Md. 78-59 in the 2012 Round of 64.
